{THIS CONTEST IS NOT LONGER OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNERS!}
To further kick off the New Year we’re doing a give away this week at Urban Nest. We have a few 2010 desk calendars from Ink & Paper for 3 lucky readers!
The calendars are made up of 12 pages, plus cover and come packaged in a clear, hard plastic case that doubles as a display. Each page measures 7.25″ x 4.25″ and will be a great addition to any desktop.
To enter to win, post a comment with your name and a short description of a project you’re going to tackle this year. We will choose, at random, 3 winners and announce them on the blog this Friday.
Happy New Year!

Hi Steph! I’m going to try to tackle my kitchen this year!?! I want to refinish the cabinets and put up a back splash. The counter tops may have to wait a while but I think it will be a BIG improvement. Any suggestions on colors?
We’ve got lots of little projects planned for the inside of the house, some new light fixtures and new accents for the rooms. But our biggest projects will be outside. We need a fence, a patio, and a place for the hot tub my hubby can’t stop talking about. It’s going to be a busy spring/summer for us!

My project for this year is a doozy – Next month, I’m launching my own event planning company. Between this new endeavor and my good ol’ 9-to-5, I’m going to need plenty of tools to help me manage my time. This sweet calendar would be a great help!
Cute calendar! I plan to start a small vegetable garden this spring. My first time. I am sure I will learn alot!
So cute! I would love this in my kitchen!
My project to tackle in 2010 is a little thing called a total house renovation!

we have lots of projects we’re working on this year – replacing light fixtures, landscaping, etc. We’ve broken them down by month so this calendar would be a great help!
Very cute! I shall be tackling the dreaded project of repainting the head board of my bed. Looking forward to the ‘after’ part of it!
I could totally use one of these, I need a new calender for my desk! This year I hope to finish up organizing my craft area. Need to clean out all old things and get everything organized into boxes and labeled…I cant wait to have it all done

Very cute calendar…my “little project” consists of packing up my home and moving down the block and then unpacking and moving into a newly renovated home. I, of course, will attempt to get more organized as a result of said move; thereby eliminating lots of junk that I have accumulated over the past 7 years.
We have just bought a repo home with NO kitchen and bath. We plan to install those two items as well as paint the whole house and fix/refinish wood floors. Quite an undertaking. All on a strict budget, of course.
My little project is to practice practice practice my bread baking skills while my other “little” project is to run a half marathon (so that I can keep eating all that bread!)
My little projects are trying to finish all the window treatments in my house. It’s not too many but enough to make me keep putting them off!
Our full basement is a nightmare. We’re going go through all the random boxes, install shelving and organize/label all that’s left over, and paint the cement floor. Can’t wait! Happy New Year – love reading your blog!
Does my project have to be house-oriented?! I’m going to start painting! There I said it and typed it. Mainly for self-enjoyment and possible gifts or to sell, who knows. Oh, and those boxes of china and crystal from my previous life…yeah, they WILL get consigned this year and out of the attic.
I’ve done every room except my bedroom! Thats gonna be my project for this year. Lets hope it doesnt take the whole year to complete!
My project is boring, but it’s all about getting our finances in order. But by doing that we’re doing all the other little things we’ve been wanting to to. We’re eating at home more, which helps with being more healthy; we’re getting rid of and selling things we don’t need, which is helping others with our donations and re-using items to be more green…
I’m hoping to get new doors put in our playroom and on our front porch. (Double doors! So we can move furniture into our 60-year-old house without messing it up before the kid gets a chance to mess it up first!)
This year I will finally tackle my fabric pile which has been sitting in the corner of my bedroom for 4 years. I will rediscover what I have and actually make the things I had planned to when I bought them.
Very pretty calendars. I have so many projects I hope I can get to, but I’m especially excited to do is redo our powder room. Thanks for the fun giveaway.

Oooh great giveaway!
My name is Natalie and a project I’m going to tackle is painting the bamboo desk in our office. It’s currently a sort of mustard yellow color, but I think it would look fabulous painted an “almost mint” color
My name is Katie and my husband and I are going to do a brick paver patio with some bricks we “freecycled” from someone else changing out their brick pavers for gray pavers. Obviously this will be done when it is not so cold outside…brrrr
Love the blog!
My project is to clear out my office and make it into a really inviting work space. Right now it is doubling as a storage “catch-all” room.
First of all, I absolutely love your site! I check it multiple times a week and actually look forward to new posts. I might be taking on too much right now, but we are going to convert our office into a room for our baby due in July and converting my craft room into an office/craft/multi-task room. Wish me luck because I will need it.
Good Lord, what don’t I have planned?!?! Remodeling the bathroom, remodeling our ENTIRE camper for under $1200, creating several websites to bulk up my portfolio, starting an etsy business…
Ah…so much! I want to turn our boring sun room into a relaxing place to read a book, take a nap, or work on other projects. Right now it holds recycling….(and my hula hoop)!
I am working on some photo albums of our wedding as gifts and hopefully starting a graphic design LLC!
I’m going to decorate our master bedroom this year. I’m really looking forward to it and am already culling magazines for ideas.
I would like to paint the living room and get some cute etsy art on the walls.
Hi! I’m going to work on beautifying my lawn this year after spending two years working on the inside of the house!
My project is to finally decorate the walls of our apartment. After living here almost 9 months, I’m tired of the blank white walls.
I am re-doinging my sons bedroom with my mom with this grid pattern on one wall with 9 different paint colors….it is turning out awesome! We can’t wait to surprise him with the big reveal! New bedding in on the way from CB2 and a trip to IKEA is hopefully on the schedule for next week!
i am inspired by three this year. throughout the house … dishes in sets of three, three candles, three chairs, three piece of art, etc.
